The initial direction

Vaultary is being developed with a portable encrypted archive: a copy you control, protected by a secret you retain. Automatic cloud synchronization is outside the initial promise. Exact release behavior and compatibility will be documented after validation.

Two things to keep

You need both a usable archive and its required secret. Keep the archive away from the only device it protects. Keep the secret accessible if that device is lost. Do not store the only recovery material inside the same vault.

What we cannot promise

There is no company-held master password or staff-assisted decryption promised. Losing the necessary secrets and all readable copies may mean permanent loss. An app reset is not a recovery strategy.

What to test

Restore sample files into an empty installation. Open every original, compare counts and check videos and documents. Repeat after meaningful format or credential changes. Never delete your source originals based only on an export-success message.
