Before you hand over the phone
Open the picture you intend to show and follow Apple’s current Guided Access instructions. Enable Guided Access in Accessibility, start the session, and turn Touch off if you want a still display. Test ending the session yourself before handing over the device. A session passcode should be distinct from anything you are trying to keep private.
Apple notes that Emergency Services and Crash Detection are unavailable during Guided Access. End the session when the handoff is over. Use a short supervised demonstration rather than leaving your everyday phone restricted indefinitely.
Choose the right boundary
| Need | Useful choice |
|---|---|
| Show one picture without swiping | A tested Guided Access session with Touch off. |
| Keep a group of personal files apart from camera-roll browsing | A separate encrypted library with its own credential. |
| Send a copy to another person | Choose the specific file, check its metadata and assume the recipient can retain it. |
Make your private collection easier to manage
Import the personal photos you want in Vaultary and open the imported copies to check them. Keep useful names and collections so finding a private file is simple after unlocking. Then deliberately manage originals in Photos, Recently Deleted and any cloud library you use. Importing a file does not silently remove every original.
Explore the iPhone photo vault and compare a Hidden album with a separate vault before moving an important collection.
A quick handoff checklist
- Choose the exact photo first.
- Test the restriction and the way to end it.
- Keep the handoff short and supervised.
- Review copies separately when you send or export a file.
